Thanks Ann, for getting this Annual Event off to an early and positive START. Also Kudos and many THANKS to Adam (and the 'Utah Gang') that began this terrific Extravaganza and hosted it in the past YEARS! :rock2:

Hope to see a LARGE showing of the UTAH SKKIers again this year; since we will need everyone possible (with SKKIs, video cameras, and 'ideas') to film the World Record Trikke SKKI Super Snow-Snake video.

Perhaps we should start a "SKKI-INN 2012" GROUP (or whatever this new 'format' allows), to discuss items such as Transportation, Lodging, Food, Events, etc.......'off' the main Forum..... don't want the 'unfortunate non-attendees' to get too jealous. :icon_twisted:

Hope to see 'ya'll' on the SNOW in Jan! :bananaskki:

The firs thing we have to do is convince folks not to run out on the Super Snow Snake like their pants are on fire. What is it about Trikkes that makes folks want to speed away even when you tell them to stay within shooting distance? I like to go fast as anyone but control is cool as well. I hope we can get this done. Are you in the lodge, Rog? I can barely wait. Don't forget to work on your quads and hamstrings so you can Skki, Skki, Skki!

The following video is one of my most watched videos. If you plan to ride the Poma watch closely. The end of the poma is a good spot to gather a large group and have a fairly slow area to video all of us together.

Maybe having GILDO and FRED leading the SNAKE will keep everyone in line. We definitely need to put some 'thought' into this project (Best Slope/Run; Camera Locations; Starting Line-up...Experience toward the head...newbies in the tail; Music that would set a good TEMPO that would keep enough 'carves' to 'slither' down the slope, but not too many; and a nice Finish Line-Up to get everyone in place for a Group Picture by the Ski Lodge)!

Same as the last two years; Bunk-Room...Bottom Queen Bed (no more TOP bunks for me;...a real chore for this 'Old Body' after a couple days of hard SKKI'n ... and party'ing).

I'm pretty sure the legs will be in shape; need to work on the 'cardio' (altitude training) and the arms/shoulders. I usually feel it the first few days in the shoulders; 'cutting' the front ski into a hard carve.....and holding it.

I pasted the wrong video, I meant to post this video.

Do you plan to edit the video Roger? I find that editing my own videos is hard enough without getting tied up with different formats and such. It will be a miracle if we can get everyone together on the same slope and keep from outrunning each other but I am willing to give it a shot. I recommend a fairly flat slope with wide shoulders much like the one in the video. Going across from the Poma to the aspen grove has some nice wide areas.

Sorry, Douguss, I don't have the experience or equipment to do a good 'edit' job. But would like to help 'plan', 'organize', 'film', and archive the raw footage on my Sony DVD burner. Someone else (hint, hint) can be the PRODUCER! Maybe we need a special 'Group' or 'Blog', so that we don't dominate this thread.

Oh YEAH! It's powder time baby! Got one of the last beds in the main lodge. Can't freakin' wait. Did you guys get to do Snow Basin last year or is this the first year for SB? Looks huge. I'm lost already. See you guys soon!

Got to do the last day at Snow Basin, yes it is much larger, with Gondola and some nice runs. Glad to hear you'll be joining the 'Party'!!

Can't wait to get into the snow in Utah. I may have to do some skkiing beforehand, though. Looking at Sierra at Tahoe.

Yeah, I could use some practice too! Only problem is, in Florida the only snow we have comes in spray cans around the holidays and I doubt I could make a hill big enough to do any good!

I don't know how to get dvds into my iMovie program. I may have to take an Apple 1-2-1 class to see how that works. What I do with Darrick, since he doesn't have an iMac, is have him send me his SD cards and I load them directly and then mail them back to him. Adam tried to tell me how to open a drop box of the 2010 video but I couldn't figure that out. Some things I can do and other things I can't. I have to drive over Hiway 17 to the Apple store and don't always get into doing that. We can work on it.

You have a GOPRO HD cam now don't you? Have you had any issues with it fogging up? I have that happen with mine on sunny days. They have silica paper that you insert into the body of the camera and it works most of the time but you have to make sure and micro wave them before each use and change out each time you open the housing to change the battery of SD chip. It's a pain but worth it to get the shot. I prefer some overcast or high clouds.

It will be good to see you again, Steve. I reckon you will have to get out and work your quads and hammies to prepare yourself for some Utah Skking. Not much altitude there either. See your in January.

Yep, my first trip back to the Rockies, to SKKI Utah; I really noticed the altitude. Headaches, lack of energy...... and you really have to keep hydrated due to the 'dry' air. Maybe instead of one of these $80 Altitude Training Masks;

You can 'plug up' one nostril, or Trikke with your mouth closed.....to get acclimatized..... just a thought.

Was it 'fun' for you, Petr? When does your SKKI season begin? .......I'm counting the days until SKKI-INN 2012 in Jan.

In good years, early December. Usually around New Year time. December skkiing (and skiing) is very specific - bare patches and artificial snow that tends to pack into ice. But then again, it's a start of a new season.

****! I can't believe the insurance companies are going to ruin our fun! Such BS! I've been working my *** off since I signed up, to pay for this trip. Really hope they can work this issue out!

Me too,.... wonder what the 'problem' is (besides IGNORANT Insurance Companies)? From my personal experience (almost 50 years on snow covered slopes [civilian and military]) the Trikke SKKI is the easiest to become proficient and much SAFER (without being 'locked' to a board by boots & bindings). I wonder WHICH companies are 'involved' and what their 'concerns' are? Perhaps we should ASK them with an "Email Campaign", we can't overwhelm them with NUMBERS of people, but perhaps LOGIC would win for once. Need to contact Anne at Trikke Academy to get more info..... and SEE if we can HELP!
